Publish your photo

You can have your photo published with our help. There are two options to do this:

How to have your photo published on the "Trace the Face" Website

- Contact the Red Cross Society of the country you are currently living in.
Please see the list of the countries in which we can process your request.


- An employee of the Red Cross office will meet you and explain the following steps in more detail:



-> Before publishing your photo on the website:

1. When your photo is published on the website, you increase your chances of finding your family who may be looking for you.

2. Only your photo and the nature of the family link to your missing relative are published, all other information (your name, etc.) will be kept confidential.

3. If you wish to publish your photo on the website, you will have to sign a consent form to allow us to do so. Your personal data will not be published without your written approval!

-> While the photos are published on the website:

4. Once we have your consent, your photo will be published on the Family Links Website

5. People from all around the world will be able to see them. If they recognize you and are willing to contact you, they can contact us through a form available for them on the website.
 
6. Once we receive this form, we will contact you and discuss the next steps.

7. You can always decide to delete your photo from the website. Just inform us and we will take the necessary steps to do so.

 


How to have your photo published on "Trace the Face" Posters & Booklets

- Contact the Red Cross Society in the country you are currently living in.
Please see the list of the countries in which we can process your request.

- An employee of the Red Cross Office will meet you and explain the following steps in more detail:


-> Before publishing your photo on our posters & booklets:

1. When your photo is published on our posters & booklets, which will be distributed in several European countries, you can increase your chances of finding your family who may be looking for you.

2. Only your photo and the nature of the family link to your missing relative are published, all other information (your name, etc.) will be kept confidential.

3. If you wish to publish your photo on our posters & booklets, you will have to sign a consent form to allow us to do so. Your personal data will not be published without your written approval! 
 
-> When the photos are published on our posters & booklets:

4. Once we have your consent, your photo will be published for a period of at least one month on public spaces in several European countries. The booklets can be used to contact communities of you country of origin to help to find your family.

5. People all over the world will be able to see these photos and contact their local Red Cross offices if they recognize you and are willing to contact you.

6. Once we receive new information from those Red Cross offices we will inform you and discuss the next steps.

As our poster can only contain 16 pictures at a time, there may be a delay before we can publish your photo.

7. Once the publication of the poster with your photo is over, you can still publish your photo on our website.
