The Tanzania Red Cross Society or the ICRC helps people in Tanzania restore and maintain contact with family members through Red Cross messages. This service is provided:
- when other means of communication (telephone lines, postal system, etc.) are disrupted or not available; and
- when loss of contact is due to armed conflict, other situations of violence or migration or in certain cases of detention;
or in other situations of humanitarian need, when possible.
The ICRC provides RCM services for migrants in the prisons in the five regions of Tabora, Kigoma, Kagera, Mwanza and Rukwa.
